What is nutritional therapy?

Nutritional therapy focuses on using nutrition science to support ill health and improve fitness and well-being.

Suboptimal diet and deficiencies in vital nutrients can often leave us feeling sluggish, bloated and simply not functioning at our best. In addition, scientists believe that food plays a key role in many of today's ever increasing levels of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, auto-immunity, dementia, cancer and heart disease.

Nutritional therapy is not a 'one size fits all' concept of healthy eating. It is about identifying and understanding your own personal triggers and the imbalances holding you back from reaching optimal health.

Assessing diet and genetic factors, I can put together a manageable, step-by-step, personalised program for you. Where beneficial, I may also suggest functional medicine and laboratory testing. Some of these tests may include:

  • Food allergies and intolerances
  • Bowel function (IBS, IBD, bloating, dysbiosis etc)
  • Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
  • Sex hormone imbalances
  • Vitamin and mineral deficiencies
  • Energy function
  • Adrenal stress level
