Homemade tahini

Tahini is a paste made from ground sesame seeds. It is a favourite dip in the Mediterranean and the Middle East. An excellent source of calcium, this dip can help keep your bones healthy and strong.

Prep Time 5 mins
Servings 8 people

Ingredients

  • ½ cup runny tahini (I like Achva or Baracke)
  • ¼ cup fresh lemon juice
  • ½ cup of water, plus more as needed
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • small handful of parsley with stems removed (leave a little aside to serve)
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Method

  1. Place all the ingredients in a blender and whizz it up, adding more water if the consistence is too thick
  2. Sprinkle with chopped parsley to serve

Tip
Drizzle over eggs, salad, cooked vegetables or meat to give a rich flavour
