Warm spiced roasted cauliflower

This makes a wonderful side dish and can also be enjoyed in a pitta, salad or mixed into rice. Cauliflower is a rich vegetarian source of choline, an essential nutrient needed to remove excess fat and cholesterol from your liver. Choline also plays a crucial role in supporting healthy muscle and brain function.

  • 1 whole cauliflower (leave some leaves on)
  • 1 tbsp ghee butter
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • pinch of salt
  • pinch of ground black pepper


  1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees celsius
  2. Cut the cauliflower in two and place both halves in a saucepan with approximately a third of the cauliflower covered in water and boil for 3 minutes
  3. In a separate pan, melt the ghee butter
  4. Drain the cauliflower and place in an ovenproof dish. Drizzle and toss the cauliflower with the melted ghee, spices and seasoning, ensuring that the cauliflower is well coated in the mixture
  5. Roast in the oven for 45mins and serve immediately

This dish is delicious with a serving of tahini on the side.
