Antioxidant berry smoothie

I stock my freezer with a range of organic frozen berries which can quickly be transformed into an anti-ageing, energy boosting breakfast. It’s a great way to get in a decent number of your daily fruit and veggies.

For the smoothie

  • 1/2 cup blackberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1/2 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 medium ripe banana
  • 1 tbsp ground flaxseeds
  • 2 tbsp oats
  • 300ml milk/dairy substitute/water (as needed for desired thickness)

Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth. If using fresh rather than frozen berries, add 4 cubes of ice for a cooler more refreshing drink.

Add a tablespoon of pure cacao nibs to give you an extra crunchy dark chocolatey flavour.
